Survey: Capital Improvement Project Priorities, FY 2018 & beyond

Your input is requested by May 24th to guide our Scenic Foothills Community Council in setting priorities for future capital funding requests for streets, storm drains, parks trails, etc. The Municipality has provided a list of proposed capital improvement projects in three funding categories: (Anchorage Project Management & Engineering, State of Alaska, Anchorage Parks & Recreation). Funding is via bonding and state and federal grants.

Please look over the list and take a brief (3-question) online Capital Improvement Projects Survey to rank these items in order of importance. There is a place to suggest other projects if you think they are more urgently needed. This will guide the SFCC board in setting funding priorities for the next fiscal year and beyond.

The survey allows one set of answers per computer. The survey may also be completed with mobile devices. The last question requests name, street address and e-mail address to help update Scenic Foothills Community Council mailing lists. Data won’t be shared or sold.

If unable to complete the survey online, please send name, street address and e-mail address to sfcc@alaska.net for alternate method.

Chugach Foothills Connector Trail work June 13-June 25

Karen Bronga from Scenic Foothills Trail Users Group wrote: The Youth Employed in Parks (YEP) crew will start Chugach Foothills Connector Trail work from Klutina Dr. and the Powerline area to Regal Mountain Drive June 13th.
This is Phase 1 of getting a connector trail all the way to Campbell Airstrip Rd. We are very excited that this is happening and the crew is very excited to have this be their first project of the season. Since it is their first project, they’ll be working out kinks and have asked for neighbors to join them in working on the last day, June 25th.
This 9:00 am to 12 pm work party on June 25th will be capped with a ribbon cutting, with cake, hotdogs and such. If you can’t make the work party still come to the ceremony at noon. Meet at Tikishla Street and the powerline with your own lawn chair. It’d be cool if you could walk there and maybe even try the trail.
Also, we would like to feed the crew and crew chiefs lunch on their first day of work, at noon on June 13th. Looking for hoagie rolls, assorted lunch meats, cheeses, chips, veggie tray, and soft drinks for 30. If you’d like to contribute, please message Karen Bronga back. (You can do this via the Contact page). You will be bringing the food to 8060 Resurrection.
Thanks!

Glenn Highway & Muldoon Road Interchange Project Road & Ramp Changes

PEDESTRIAN PATHWAY CLOSURE: The pedestrian tunnel under Muldoon Road is CLOSED long-term, until construction of a new tunnel is complete. Pedestrians will need to follow the temporary path to Golden Bear Drive (Tikahtnu entrance), cross Muldoon Road at the signal, and follow the path back to the east side of Muldoon Road.
GlennMuldoonNav

Expect new traffic patterns on the northbound Glenn Highway Off-ramp at Muldoon Road where a new temporary signal and intersection is in place. All traffic exiting the northbound Glenn Highway onto Muldoon will use the old southbound Muldoon Road Off-ramp and either turn left or right at the new signal when they reach Muldoon Road.
