Glenn Highway Muldoon Road Interchange Public Open House 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016, informal presentation at 7 p.m., in the Yellow Cafeteria at Bartlett High School, 1101 North Muldoon Road. Project teams will be available to review the scope of work and provide information about the project.

Neeser Construction Inc. has been selected to construct the Glenn Muldoon DDI. Work will begin in the Spring of 2016, continue over three seasons, and be completed by November 2018.

First Public Meeting on JBER Drawdown Impacts 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, in the multi-purpose room at Begich Middle School, 7440 Creekside Center Drive. Light refreshments provided.

The Municipality, in partnership with the Department of Defense, is conducting an economic assessment of potential troop drawdowns. Two public meetings will provide information and invite comments on how reductions might affect businesses, schools, and neighborhoods.

Scenic Foothills Community Council (SFCC) will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 3, in the auditorium at Wayland Baptist University, 7801 East 32nd Avenue. Access via Old Muldoon Road off 36th Avenue, west of Muldoon Road.

Anchorage Assembly & School Board Candidates Forum; ballot propositions, including Road Bonds, Park Bonds, School Bonds and marijuana retail sales tax to be voted on in April 5 elections. We have plenty of room and everyone is welcome.

Playground equipment for Muldoon Town Square is included in the Parks Bond.

Muldoon Town Square Park Info Gathering March 19th

Northeast and Scenic Foothills Community Councils will host a series of public discussions regarding the future community park (“Muldoon Town Square Park”) on the old Alaska Greenhouse site at Muldoon Road and DeBarr. The official planning process with Parks & Recreation will begin in the fall.

In the meantime, we can explore ideas and options from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. the third Thursday of each month at the Muldoon Boys and Girls Club (Muldoon Community Center), 1251 Muldoon Road, starting March 19th.  Continue reading
