Happy New Year! January SFCC meeting is canceled. Our usual meeting place at Wayland Baptist University is closed for the holidays and we will resume meetings there February 1.
In the meantime, the Chugach Foothills Park Advisory Committee met December 28 to plan for next summer’s playground upgrade. More meetings will be scheduled over the next few weeks if you missed it.
If you live close to this popular neighborhood park or spend time in it, we urge you to take the survey to guide the Chugach Foothills Park playground advisory committee. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ChugachPLAY

Scenic Foothills Community Council (SFCC) will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 2, in the auditorium at Wayland Baptist University, 7801 East 32nd Avenue. Access via Old Muldoon Road off 36th Avenue, west of Muldoon Road.
We are working to establish a phone link to State Representative Lance Pruitt and State Senator Cathy Giessel for their comments on the 2017 legislative session and so they will be able to respond to your questions. Assembly representatives Forrest Dunbar and Pete Petersen and a member of the School Board will be available to keep us informed on current issues of interest to us or that may require our input for their deliberations.
Agenda highlights (presentations):
1. Chugach Electric – line clearing: scheduled tree trimming for overhead electric lines.
2. Anchorage Park Foundation – municipal park challenge grants for park and trail projects. They will also talk about developing the new park at Muldoon and DeBarr.
3. Single Track Advocates – working to create, maintain and preserve single track bicycle trails – in the early stages of envisioning a new trail on the Hillside.
Please come! We have plenty of room and everyone is welcome. See the paragraph above this notice for links to the agenda and the newsletter with more information.
