Chanshtnu Muldoon Park named, Phase 2 funded

It’s official! The Anchorage Assembly approved a name – Chanshtnu Muldoon Park – for our community park July 25, 2017. Chanshtnu (pronounced CHANSH-nu), meaning “grass creek,” is the Dena’ina word for Chester Creek, which winds through the park at 1301 Muldoon Road.

The U.S. Department of the Interior and the National Park Service announced a grant of $750,000 to the city toward development of Phase 2 of the park in mid-July.

Ribbon cutting for Phase 1 – Muldoon Town Square – with an all-inclusive, destination playground, and future home of Muldoon Farmers Market, is planned for 4 p.m. September 16 at the annual Spirit of Muldoon picnic.
