Chugach Foothills Connector trail work begins Monday, June 13th

Youth Employed in Parks trail crew is set to start work on Phase 1 of the Chugach Foothills Connector Monday, June 13. We plan on serving lunch to the teens and crew chiefs (about 30 people). So far we have a donation of cheese, cookies, veggie tray, apple juice and someone to help serve. Still looking for assorted lunch meats, chips, and beverages. If anyone would like to contribute to lunch, you can drop items off at 8060 Resurrection after 6:00 pm on Sunday or on Monday a.m. Thanks in advance.

The work party will be June 25th from 9 am-12:00pm, with a ribbon cutting party to follow. It is really important that we have a nice showing for this ribbon cutting. We’ll congregate at the end of Tikishla drive. I’m asking folks to bring your own camp chair. Michele has offered her grill for the hotdogs.

Chugach Foothills Connector Trail work June 13-June 25

Karen Bronga from Scenic Foothills Trail Users Group wrote: The Youth Employed in Parks (YEP) crew will start Chugach Foothills Connector Trail work from Klutina Dr. and the Powerline area to Regal Mountain Drive June 13th.
This is Phase 1 of getting a connector trail all the way to Campbell Airstrip Rd. We are very excited that this is happening and the crew is very excited to have this be their first project of the season. Since it is their first project, they’ll be working out kinks and have asked for neighbors to join them in working on the last day, June 25th.
This 9:00 am to 12 pm work party on June 25th will be capped with a ribbon cutting, with cake, hotdogs and such. If you can’t make the work party still come to the ceremony at noon. Meet at Tikishla Street and the powerline with your own lawn chair. It’d be cool if you could walk there and maybe even try the trail.
Also, we would like to feed the crew and crew chiefs lunch on their first day of work, at noon on June 13th. Looking for hoagie rolls, assorted lunch meats, cheeses, chips, veggie tray, and soft drinks for 30. If you’d like to contribute, please message Karen Bronga back. (You can do this via the Contact page). You will be bringing the food to 8060 Resurrection.
Thanks!
